Barbarian Discoveries and more!

By: Ben_Goten78 Since our last content related news post, we've been hard at work on a massive to do list as a result of a little slacking off, and we've finally shrunk it down and brought the Content Team's action counter (how many times a guide or database entry has been edited) to 42,000 in just over a year. We're thanking Jagex for a relatively feeble update this week so we didn't have so much to do!

Anyway, on to the updates: the most important updates for this week are the release of the Barbarian Training and Ancient Cavern (includes brutal green and mithril dragon tactics!) guides to help all you players find your way around the new cavern. Along with this, we have also released the Barbarian Skills and My Notes tomes, and an Ancient Cavern Mith mine map. The Firemaking, Fishing, Herblore and Smithing skill guides have been updated to include information pertaining to Barbarian Training, and so has each of their respective Calculators.

In other news, there has been a few smaller updates. A Slayer tower map has been added to the Slayer skill guide for those adventurers who may be wondering what's up there. We've also added which hotkeys will open what menu item whilst playing runecape to our Getting Started guide.

For those who haven't noticed, No1 1000 has also designed a little favicon for Zybez and the Tiko Online Toolkit.

runecape Price Guide Update

By: Ben_Goten78 Firstly, for those who hadn't yet noticed, we have added a Search feature and Price Indicators to the search results page of the runecape Price Guide. Hopefully that makes it easier for those on dial up, or those too lazy to hit backspace!

For the past week we've been collecting on and off, all your search terms that have resulted in a failed search for the runecape Price Guide. The reason we had to turn it on and off was because, well... about 3 failed searches were occurring per second in OFF-PEAK times. From the week, we managed to collect a load of good keywords (200+), and add them to our database - we're going to have to update the data type for keywords soon, 255 characters just isn't enough these days!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to ask you that if you can't find what you're looking for on the first go, dumb it down (and try not to use plurals of items, which means leave off the s after the word) -- if you're looking for Blessed dragonhide vambraces (g), search for "vambs g" and that will return the result. Another example, if you can't spell abyssal, just type in "whip" or "wip". We will continue to add keywords over time to reduce the number of failed searches to better serve you.

Oh, and for those of you who were searching for real life people like George Bush, or runecape Players like Zezima, or those using auto typers and had their auto message searched for (e.g. wave:selling 2k lobz !~!~!~~~!~!)... thanks, we had a good ol' laugh.

By: Kuroda Zybez Radio, formerly runecape Community Radio was started by Alman84 a few years ago, then revived again in early 2005 by Tymiller and Tapman. Alas, inactivity set in and there was rarely ever a DJ online. Now, after a few weeks of preparation, Zybez Radio is ready to try again, this time on a larger scale. What's new? More DJs, music schedules, user interactivity, the ability to request songs, live, and a few other things that you'll just have to wait for!

Well, right now you may be wondering "how do we listen to this fantastic radio station?!" It's really simple! You can either listen from the Zybez Radio page, open the media player in a pop up, OR stream it it through your computer's media player program. To listen on your own computer with Windows Media Player or iTunes, just open the program up, press Ctrl+U, and paste http://radio.zybez.com:8000 in the input box.

UPDATE: We have added cookie based high (Broadband: 64kbps) and low (Dialup: 24kbps) quality channels. If you set the channel quality here, it will be the same in the pop up, and on the IRC page. If you have a download limit/cap, be careful not to go over it!

Implings with Bows and Arrows

By: Myst After the huge update in runecape yesterday we've been scrambling to get everything updated. All the new items have been added to the item database although some information is still missing. Your corrections and tips are greatly appreciated and have been a big help throughout the process.

We've updated the fletching and ranging skill guides and calculators to include the new Dark Bow, Dragon arrows and Dragon darts. The hunter guide has also been updated to reflect information about catching implings. All of the recently released items have been added to our runecape price guide, but be wary when trading them until the prices settle down.

We've also released a guide on the new runecape mini game Impetuous Impulses for all those hunters who want to know how to get to Puro-Puro and capture those pesky implings. The guide has lots of information on the loot available if you are interested in gaining those rarer items.

Finally for those who have yet to notice, we have adjusted the color of links on the default skin so our users will be able to see clearly where we're linking them to another guide or image. If you feel the link color change is helpful, please let us know so we can decide to do the other skins or not.

runecape Price Guide Update!

By: Ben_Goten78 With the extreme volatility of the runecape market, who's to know if a price is rising or falling? Well, that's what the first item on today's agenda addresses. The runecape Market Price Guide has received a new feature: Price indicators! This is the first stepping-stone to our ultimate goal of providing Price History Graphs. Please note that these arrows are not indicative of a price trend - they indicate by how much a price has increased or decreased since the last update.

The price indicators can currently be found on the Recently Updated listing, and in the price categories. If you hover over the increase or decrease indicators of an item, you will notice it will tell you what the previous price average was, and by how much it increased or decreased by; how handy!


With up to 50 prices being updated on a daily basis, we hope these indicators will help you with all your runecape trades!
